Who is Luthercare
Luthercare, a social ministry organization affiliated with the Lower Susquehanna Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), is a leading provider of residential, assisted living and skilled care residences in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties. Luthercare operates Luther Acres, a continuing care retirement community in Lititz, PA, Spang Crest Manor, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center also offering assisted living and adult day services in Lebanon, PA and St. John’s Herr Estate an independent and assisted living community in Columbia, PA. In addition, Luthercare also operates five child care and learning centers in Lebanon, Annville, Reamstown, Lancaster, and Columbia.
Luthercare is one of the more than 300 members of Lutheran Services in America, a joint ministry of the ELCA and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. It is also one of 37 affiliate organizations of the Lutheran Disaster Response. Luthercare is a member of Pennsylvania Associations for Not-for-Profit Homes for the Aged (PANPHA), American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (aahsa), the United Way and the Evangelical Lutheran Education Association. All five of our child care and learning centers participate in the PA Keystone Stars Program.
Luthercare has 64 partner congregations in Lebanon and Lancaster counties. These congregations support Luthercare in many ways by donating their time and talent.
