Thank you for your interest in becoming a benefactor of Luthercare. Our hope is to serve you and your family with helpful information. We have an increasing number of friends who now are benefiting from life income gifts, gift annuities and other plans. Planned gifts are a wonderful way for our donors to benefit, as well as providing financial support for our ministries. Thank you for taking the time to explore the benefits of gift planning.

You can give several ways. Many of these have wonderful benefits for the gift donors including increased income and generous tax savings. Some of the plans that you can discuss with your financial advisor are:

Will Bequest

Include a bequest to Luthercare through a new will or a codicil to your existing will. You can designate a specific amount or a percentage of your estate.

Insurance Policy

You can make Luthercare the beneficiary of your policy or transfer ownership to Luthercare.

Individual Retirement Assets

Individual Retirement Assets (IRA), Keogh, 401k, 403b as well as pension and profit sharing plans can be gifted by naming Luthercare beneficiary of all or part of your retirement account.

Trusts

A trust enables you to provide income for yourself or others for a period of years while making a gift to Luthercare. Contact your own professional advisor or lawyer for details on how trusts could work for you.

Other Deferred Gifts

You can use assets such as real estate, Savings Bonds, bank accounts and certificates of deposit to make a gift to Luthercare. It's easy, just name Luthercare as the beneficiary of your account.

Charitable Gift Annuity

A gift annuity provides a lifetime income for you and saves on taxes. By entering into a gift annuity agreement through Luthercare and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America Foundation, you can designate Luthercare or one of its ministries as the entity to receive the remainder of the annuity upon your death.
