Luther Acres Offers Winter Courses

Luther Acres, a Luthercare community, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, is offering a variety of courses for its Winter 2018 "reDiscover A World of Possibilities" program. The courses are one day a week, and some cover a two-, four- or six-week period. All are open to the greater community. The courses are held on the Luther Acres campus and have varying fees for residents and non-residents; some courses are free to attend. The purpose of the "reDiscover" program is to provide an opportunity to learn new things, be creative, enrich minds and have fun!

Luthercare Awarded Lancaster County Community Foundation Grants

Luthercare recently received a $40,000 grant from the Lancaster County Community Foundation through its Creative Solutions Matching Program. The award supports Systems Aligned in Learning (SAIL). SAIL is a four-partner collaborative focused on preschool children cared for by home-based child care providers in Lancaster County. SAIL partners regularly visit providers’ homes to deliver services and resources, free of charge, with the goal of closing the achievement gap between the children in their care and peers enrolled in quality center-based care.

Celebrating the Holidays at Luthercare Communities

Christmas is a joy-filled season at Luthercare’s three senior living communities – with beautifully trimmed trees, twinkling lights, colorful wreaths and plenty of special events and activities for residents and their families.

At St. John’s Herr Estate in Columbia and Luther Acres in Lititz, residents took part in annual Christmas Gala celebrations, featuring delicious holiday hors d’oeuvres and sweet treats, while seasonal music filled the air. The Gala at St. John’s Herr Estate was held on Wednesday evening, December 14; the Luther Acres Gala followed the next evening.

22nd Annual Tee it up for Kids! Golf Tournament Supports Luthercare for Kids Members

109 golfers took the course in a shotgun start at 11:30 a.m. They were eagerly participating in the 22nd Annual Tee it up for Kids! Golf Tournament on September 26 in support of Luthercare for Kids Early Learning Programs. The course at Lebanon Country Club would prove to be a challenge.

An Evening of Artistry, Beauty and Inspiration at St. John’s Herr Estate

In conjunction with the June Fourth Friday events in Columbia, Marietta and Wrightsville, St. John’s Herr Estate, the Luthercare senior living community in Columbia, will feature the artistry of its talented residents during a Resident Art Exhibit and will host an Open House on Friday, June 24. Come be inspired by the art of senior living at St. John’s Herr Estate, 200 Luther Lane, Columbia.


Annual Strawberry Festival Held at Luther Acres

The Annual Strawberry Festival was held Saturday, June 11, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Luther Acres, the Luthercare community at 600 East Main Street, Lititz. Resident volunteers readied 104 quarts of strawberries in preparation for the Festival. The weather was sunny and warm – the perfect backdrop for family, friends, community members and campus residents who attended the event to enjoy the strawberries, which were served with shortcake, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.


Introducing Luthercare's Marketing Manager - Supportive Living

Melissa Waltman joined the Luthercare team as Marketing Manager – Supportive Living in October. She will provide strategic marketing support for the supportive living components of Luthercare: Personal Care and Skilled Nursing Care. She comes to us having dedicated the past 15 years to working with older adults and their families as they transition from independent living to more supportive living environments in personal care, dementia care and skilled nursing care. She is a Certified Senior Advisor and a licensed Personal Care Home Administrator.


Residents plan for Annual Holiday Bazaar at Luther Acres

On Friday, November 20, and Saturday, November 21, Luther Acres will hold its Annual Holiday Bazaar. The doors of the Community Room, in the Towne Center at 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz, will open on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. and close at 8:30 p.m. Saturday sales will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m. In order to accommodate our customers, we will utilize cashier stations close to the doors. Shoppers will be able to pay for their total purchases at one station. As an added convenience, one of these locations will be able to handle credit card purchases.


Luthercare and Moravian Manor Announce Historic Home Care Partnership

LITITZ, PA (June 11, 2015) – Today, senior officials for Luthercare and Moravian Manor announced a precedent-setting collaboration that will create a jointly-owned and operated home care agency in the area. This newly formed joint venture between these two leading senior living providers is intended to serve the needs of those who could benefit from home care and in-home supportive services.
