Luther Acres to host 5th Annual Lights of Luthercare event

More than 700 luminarias will light the paths and walkways of Luther Acres, the Luthercare senior living community at 600 E. Main St., Lititz, during the community’s fifth annual Lights of Luthercare on Tuesday, December 4. The event provides Luther Acres residents and team members with an opportunity to honor and remember their loved ones as they celebrate the Christmas season. A team of resident and staff member volunteers will ensure each luminaria is lit by 5:00 p.m., which creates a beautiful glow across the campus.

Living Life to the Fullest: Welcome to Luther Acres

On a dreary rainy weekday this past September, Beth Bucher, Community Enrichment and Wellness Manager for Luther Acres, was relaxing on a luxury bus liner along with nearly 20 Luther Acres residents, family members and friends. The group was en route to the Finger Lakes region of New York, hoping that the gloomy forecast would not impact their planned activities of hiking, touring and wine tasting.

Card Shower Planned to Celebrate Luther Acres Resident Turning 111

Can you imagine the things Miriam “Mim” Moore has seen in her nearly 111 years? The supercentenarian, a resident of Luther Acres, the Luthercare community in Lititz, will celebrate her 111th birthday on January 28! As a lifelong card player, we would love to shower her with birthday cards. Mim plays cards daily at Luther Acres Healthcare Center, in addition to attending exercise group, bingo, music programs, art class, parties and socials.

Luther Acres Offers Winter Courses

Luther Acres, a Luthercare community, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, is offering a variety of courses for its Winter 2018 "reDiscover A World of Possibilities" program. The courses are one day a week, and some cover a two-, four- or six-week period. All are open to the greater community. The courses are held on the Luther Acres campus and have varying fees for residents and non-residents; some courses are free to attend. The purpose of the "reDiscover" program is to provide an opportunity to learn new things, be creative, enrich minds and have fun!

Celebrating the Holidays at Luthercare Communities

Christmas is a joy-filled season at Luthercare’s three senior living communities – with beautifully trimmed trees, twinkling lights, colorful wreaths and plenty of special events and activities for residents and their families.

At St. John’s Herr Estate in Columbia and Luther Acres in Lititz, residents took part in annual Christmas Gala celebrations, featuring delicious holiday hors d’oeuvres and sweet treats, while seasonal music filled the air. The Gala at St. John’s Herr Estate was held on Wednesday evening, December 14; the Luther Acres Gala followed the next evening.
