Annual Strawberry Festival Held at Luther Acres Campus

Luther Acres, 600 E. Main Street, Lititz

The Annual Strawberry Festival was held Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Luther Acres, a Luthercare community. Resident volunteers readied 85 quarts of strawberries in preparation of the Festival. Even though the weather looked a bit gloomy at first, family, friends and community members who attended the event enjoyed all of the strawberries which were served with shortcake, ice cream and whipped cream. Jean Thomas and Mary Snyder, residents of Luther Acres and co-chairpersons of the event, reported over 500 people were served the delicious treat. Along with the strawberries, hot dogs, drinks and chips were also available through the Friends of Luther Acres and more than 300 of these meals were sold.

It was a great Festival and a wonderful way to start the season! Yum!
