An Evening of Artistry, Beauty and Inspiration at St. John’s Herr Estate

In conjunction with the June Fourth Friday events in Columbia, Marietta and Wrightsville, St. John’s Herr Estate, the Luthercare senior living community in Columbia, will feature the artistry of its talented residents during a Resident Art Exhibit and will host an Open House on Friday, June 24. Come be inspired by the art of senior living at St. John’s Herr Estate, 200 Luther Lane, Columbia.

The art exhibit will run from 5 to 9 p.m. in the community’s Chapel, and light refreshments will be served. An Open House, showcasing the community’s beautifully renovated apartments, will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The art displays will include painting, weaving, needlework, woven baskets, crocheted items, taxidermy and woodworking, among other items.  More than 15 artist-residents will have works on display, including Marjorie Lovett, a trained concert pianist who has always dabbled in art and now uses her artistic talents as a painter; Doris Wickenheiser, who will display her oil paintings; Marie Wenner, who creates watercolor and acrylic paintings; Dawn Reish, who will display some of her hand-woven baskets; and Barbara Obin, who will showcase some of her paper cutting and needlework pieces. The public is invited to visit and view the pieces on display and tour the community’s apartments.

Be sure to invite your friends and family members to explore St. John’s Herr Estate! For additional information on the art show or open house, please call 717.449.5988.
