Large art sale sponsored by Luther Acres Residents’ Council

A large art sale sponsored by the Luther Acres Residents’ Council will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Community Room in the Towne Center of the senior living community at 600 East Main Street, Lititz.

Items for sale include more than 150 pre-priced, matted and framed prints of various sizes that formerly decorated the Muhlenberg Apartment Building, which has undergone significant renovations. The public is invited and encouraged to attend! (Please note: This is not an auction.)

Yard sale planned by Luther Acres Residents’ Council - RESCHEDULED TO OCTOBER 22 DUE TO WEATHER

A yard sale sponsored by the Luther Acres Residents’ Council will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at 515 Kissel Hill Road, Lititz, near the St. Matthew Road entrance to Luther Acres, a Luthercare senior living community. The rain date will be Saturday, Oct. 22.

Items for sale include furniture, sporting equipment, electronics, household goods, metal cabinets for storage, and other odds and ends.

First Phase of Stunning Renovations Now Complete at Luther Acres

After much anticipation, Luther Acres’ newest dining venues – The Round restaurant and Coffee & Cork bar – opened on May 2. The eateries were completed as part of Phase One of the beautiful renovations to the Muhlenberg Apartment Building at the Lititz senior living community. The makeover also includes a newly remodeled library, salon and spectacular lobby area with a unique bubble wall.


Annual Strawberry Festival Held at Luther Acres

The Annual Strawberry Festival was held Saturday, June 11, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Luther Acres, the Luthercare community at 600 East Main Street, Lititz. Resident volunteers readied 104 quarts of strawberries in preparation for the Festival. The weather was sunny and warm – the perfect backdrop for family, friends, community members and campus residents who attended the event to enjoy the strawberries, which were served with shortcake, vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.


Annual Strawberry Festival to be Held at Luther Acres Campus

The Annual Strawberry Festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Luther Acres, the Luthercare community at 600 East Main Street, Lititz. Strawberries, ice cream and shortcakes will be $4.00 each, and hot dogs, chips and drinks will be $3.00. The Strawberry Festival will be held on the lawn in front of the Luther Acres Healthcare Center, rain or shine. Les Bower will provide musical entertainment.


109-year-old Luther Acres resident says happiness is key to long life

Miriam “Mim” Moore celebrates turning 109 years old at Luther Acres in Lititz.

Luther Acres resident Miriam “Mim” Moore, born January 28, 1907, was 1 year old when the first Model T was introduced. She was 5 years old when the Titanic sunk, 21 when penicillin was discovered, 34 when Pearl Harbor was attacked, 62 when man landed on the moon, and 93 when the world celebrated the millennium. Having just turned 109 – yes, 109 – her answer to the secret of living a long life is simple: “Just be happy!”


21st Annual Tee it Up for Kids! Golf Tournament

It was a beautiful day for golf on September 14 at the Bent Creek Country Club, Lititz, where 128 golfers spent the afternoon teeing it up for kids in support of the Luthercare for Kids Scholarship Fund. Robert Brandt, Jr., Chairman and Founder of Benchmark Construction (the event’s Tournament Sponsor), welcomed a field of generous individuals, corporate sponsors, Luthercare residents and team members all vying for first place in the 21st annual Tee it Up for Kids! Golf Tournament.


Luther Acres Offers Winter Courses

Luther Acres, a Luthercare senior living community, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, is offering a variety of courses for its Winter 2016 "reDiscover A World of Possibilities" program. The courses are one day a week, and cover a four- or six-week period. All are open to the greater community. The courses are held on the Luther Acres campus and have varying fees for residents and non-residents. The purpose of the "reDiscover" program is to provide an opportunity to learn new things, be creative, enrich minds and have fun!
