Spang Crest Team Brings Spirit of Volunteerism to Day of Caring Event

A team of Spang Crest employees and their family members were among more than 1,100 volunteers who spread out across the Lebanon area in a variety of service projects to mark the United Way of Lebanon County’s 22nd annual Day of Caring on Saturday, April 21.

From 9 a.m. to noon, the Spang Crest group cleaned, mulched and prepared Coleman Memorial Park on West Maple Street in Lebanon for the spring and summer season!


Chaplain to be Installed at Spang Crest

The Reverend Jillian E. Riddle will be installed as Chaplain at Spang Crest, a Luthercare community at 945 Duke St., Lebanon, on Wednesday, March 14, at 2:30 pm. The installation will take place in the Chapel of the Abiding Christ at Spang Crest.  The Rev. Glenn A. Beard, Jr., Luthercare’s Director of Church Relations & Pastoral Care, will be preaching and The Rev. Robert Wallace, Jr., Dean of the Lebanon Conference, ELCA, will be presiding at the Installation. 


Luther Acres, Spang Crest Healthcare Centers Earn 5-Star Ratings

The Healthcare Centers of Luther Acres and Spang Crest have each earned the highest rating possible by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

The skilled nursing centers, located in Lititz and Lebanon, earned an overall 5-star rating from the CMS, in accordance with the standards set forth by the entity. 


Friends of Spang Crest Making a Difference

The Friends of Spang Crest, an auxiliary group that supports Luthercare’s Lebanon senior living community, plans several events over the course of the year to aid in its mission.


Spang Crest Welcomes Admissions Coordinator Melissa Wells

Melissa Wells is Spang Crest’s Admissions Coordinator at the Luthercare senior living community in Lebanon. Melissa joined the staff in July. Her primary responsibilities are to maintain census goals, promote the rehabilitation, personal care and memory support services at Spang Crest, serve as a liaison for the hospital discharge planners and residents, and help coordinate community outreach opportunities in the Lebanon area.

Spang Crest Celebrates the Birthdays of Two Centenarians in June

Margaret FesslerOn Tuesday, June 25, Margaret Fessler celebrated her 100th birthday with family, friends and team members of Spang Crest (a Luthercare community), 945 Duke Street, Lebanon, where Margaret is a resident. Margaret was born in Lebanon in 1913 to the late U. Grant and Emma Zellers. She was the 10th of 13 children and grew up on a farm in North Lebanon.


Spang Crest Offers Osteoarthritis and Chronic Pain Dinner Seminar

Spang Crest, a Luthercare retirement community, will offer a dinner seminar on Tuesday, January 22 at 6 p.m., in The Gathering Place, 945 Duke Street, Lebanon, PA. The seminar on Osteoarthritis and Chronic Pain will be presented by Drs. Avallone, Diverio and Simonelli of AO Orthopedics.

Come for a delicious dinner buffet and educational seminar. Local physicians will discuss living with osteoarthritis, conservative, non-surgical treatment options for chronic pain and the latest technologies for joint replacement.
