Free Storytelling Event at Luther Acres Celebrates Life’s Meaningful Moments

From stories that elicit laughter to moments that spark reflection, Luther Acres, a Luthercare community, invites the greater community to experience the power of storytelling at “Moments to Remember,” a resident-produced event celebrating the lives and experiences of those who call the community home. The event is free and open to the public and will be held on Wednesday, April 29, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the Community Room at the Luther Acres Towne Center, 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz. RSVPs are requested by April 24 by calling 717.626.8376.

“Moments to Remember” will feature 12 Luther Acres residents sharing personal stories that range from humorous to nostalgic. Each story is told from the heart and reflects the rich, meaningful lives that make the Luther Acres community special.

At a previous event, a 99-year-old resident captivated the audience by sharing the inspiring story of learning to ride motorcycles at age 38 – proving it’s never too late to try something new. Stories like these remind attendees that life’s most memorable moments can happen at any age.

To open the program, a talented resident will play the piano to accompany a vocal performance from a resident quartet singing “Moments to Remember” by The Four Lads of the 1950s. In keeping with the spirit of the event, the entire audience will join together to reprise the song, which at the last event, brought together more than 150 attendees in a shared moment of connection.

Produced by residents for residents and the broader community, the event creates a comfortable and engaging atmosphere, with each storyteller sharing their memories from a lectern with a microphone. Whether it’s a childhood memory, a funny life lesson, or a moment of quiet reflection, attendees will be reminded that everyone has a story worth telling.

The event is free and open to the public, and community members of all ages are welcome to attend. Attendees are asked to RSVP by April 24 at 717.626.8376.
