Janet Farnish was retired but looking for a part-time job. She had previous experience working as a switchboard operator and receptionist, so when a part-time receptionist position opened up at St. John’s Herr Estate in 2013, she joined the team!
As a receptionist, Janet is often the first point of contact for visitors, team members, and residents at the campus. With that comes the responsibility of providing friendly and knowledgeable service about Luthercare, something she gives in spades. Some other daily duties include answering phones, giving directions, and assisting residents with finding information. Janet says she is proud to help residents by keeping things like handbooks and directories up-to-date, and while it can be busy at times, she loves what she does.
