Garden of Luther Acres Resident Chosen for Demuth Garden Tour

We are very excited to announce that a Luther Acres resident’s garden has been selected as a stop on the 2019 Demuth Garden Tour! 

Joyce Heinaman resides in a cottage on the Lititz campus, and her garden is a labor of love for her – love of flowers, color and scent. Joyce and her late husband, David, always loved gardening at their longtime home in northern Lancaster County.

Attic Treasures sale planned by Luther Acres Residents’ Council

The Luther Acres Attic Treasures Garage Sale will be held on Saturday, May 4, from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 515 Kissel Hill Road, at the St. Matthew Road entrance to Luther Acres, the Luthercare senior living community in Lititz. The indoor/outdoor sale, sponsored by the Luther Acres Residents’ Council, will be held rain or shine. Parking will be available on Kissel Hill Road.

Items for sale include gifts and collectibles, kitchen items, furniture, linens and soft goods, toys/puzzles, artwork, electronics, tools, picture frames and more.

Luther Acres Offers Spring Courses

Luther Acres, a Luthercare community, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, is offering a variety of courses for its Spring 2019 "reDiscover A World of Possibilities" program. The courses are one day a week, and some cover a four-week period. All are open to the greater community. Most courses are held on the Luther Acres campus and have varying fees for campus residents and non-residents; some courses are free to attend. The purpose of the "reDiscover" program is to provide an opportunity to learn new things, be creative, enrich minds and have fun!

Luther Acres to host 5th Annual Lights of Luthercare event

More than 700 luminarias will light the paths and walkways of Luther Acres, the Luthercare senior living community at 600 E. Main St., Lititz, during the community’s fifth annual Lights of Luthercare on Tuesday, December 4. The event provides Luther Acres residents and team members with an opportunity to honor and remember their loved ones as they celebrate the Christmas season. A team of resident and staff member volunteers will ensure each luminaria is lit by 5:00 p.m., which creates a beautiful glow across the campus.

Living Life to the Fullest: Welcome to Luther Acres

On a dreary rainy weekday this past September, Beth Bucher, Community Enrichment and Wellness Manager for Luther Acres, was relaxing on a luxury bus liner along with nearly 20 Luther Acres residents, family members and friends. The group was en route to the Finger Lakes region of New York, hoping that the gloomy forecast would not impact their planned activities of hiking, touring and wine tasting.

Residents plan for Annual Holiday Bazaar at Luther Acres

Residents of Luther Acres, the Luthercare community in Lititz, have been working for months to prepare items for the upcoming Annual Holiday Bazaar. This year, the event will be held on Friday, November 16, and Saturday, November 17. The doors of the Community Room, in the Towne Center at 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz, will open on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, sales will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m.

Gardening Pioneers at Luther Acres

Ruth Lohmeyer and Terri Wible are trying some new gardening methods at Luther Acres, the Luthercare senior living community in Lititz. Both Luther Acres residents, they are experimenting with different ways of gardening that bring many benefits to the garden.

Annual Strawberry Festival to be Held at Luther Acres Campus

The Annual Strawberry Festival is scheduled for Saturday, June 9, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Luther Acres, the Luthercare community at 600 East Main Street, Lititz. Strawberries, ice cream and shortcakes will be $4.00 each, and hot dogs, chips and drinks will be $3.00. The Strawberry Festival will be held on the lawn in front of the Luther Acres Healthcare Center, rain or shine.

The Strawberry Festival is an annual fundraiser that supports the charitable activities of the Luther Acres Residents’ Council. The festival is also a fundraiser of the Friends of Luther Acres auxiliary.

Luther Acres to Host Wellness Fair and Open House

Luther Acres, the Luthercare senior living community in Lititz, will host its 7th annual Wellness Fair and Open House on Thursday, April 26. The day features educational seminars from 8:30 a.m. until 1:15 p.m.; an Open House from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; and a health fair from 11:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The health fair, with the theme “There’s No Clowning Around When It Comes to Good Health!,” will take place in the Community Room at the Luther Acres Towne Center, at 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz, and seminars will take place in and around the Towne Center.
